MEGANTARA 2016
p/s: I'm simply stating that English is not my first language, so please excuse any grammatical errors.

Megantara “Kemilau Cahaya Nusantara” is a culture festival presented by SMAN 3 Bandung. The festival was held on the 10th of September 2016, in Lapangan Bali (Bali Field). This event was held as one of OSIS 3 SHS’s programs. In this event, you will get to see the diversity of Indonesian culture, which is represented by performances of traditional dance, performances of traditional music, traditional games, Indonesian cuisines, and many more. And now, I would like to share my experience during the festival.
In the morning of D-Day, I had to join the procession of this festival which was done by walking around the streets within the school area. To be really honest, this was very tiring, and also burdensome because I had to use kebaya at the time. I swear, it was not easy to walk while wearing kebaya!
After the procession ended, I then changed into a more comfortable outfit and went to have lunch with my friends. I waited for a quite long time because we couldn’t enter the festival before the gate opened, which was at around 11:35. When the time finally came, me and my friends entered the festival. It was not that crowded at first, but as the sky got darker, the more crowded it got.
I started to walk around to observe every single stand which was there. Maybe I missed some, because there were so many stands around the festival. But as far as I remember, most of the stands were the ones selling foods. There were many kinds of Indonesian cuisine which looked very appetizing until it made me confused which one should I try first.
When the evening came and it got more crowded, the main performances were performed, such as the performance of T’sT 3 (theathre performance). Their performance was amazing, the story which they brought was to remind us not to forget Indonesian culture. After the performance ended, the first guest star finally came out to perform. It was The Changcuters, which is a famous Indonesian rock band. The crowd started to go crazy and they sang along with the band excitedly. When their performance ended, I could hear the crowd screamed in disappointment. But then the crowd started to go crazy again (even more crazier, I can say) when the second guest star came out, and it was RAN. The girls started to scream, this time in excitement and not disappointment, of course. Well, RAN is more popular within teenage girls. Again, the crowd started to sing along and got all excited. I almost gave up on my legs, really. It was very tiring but exciting at the same time to stand among the crowd and watch the band performed.

Finally, the festival came to and end when RAN ended their performance. The festival ended perfectly, and it was around 10 PM when it ended. Although I was very tired from standing too long, I was happy to be there and to enjoy the festival from the very beginning until the very end. I could enjoy the diversity of Indonesian culture, and that was when I realized that Indonesia is such an amazing country with so many culture and all the diversity in it. I LOVE INDONESIA!
